HOW DOES THAT FOOT TASTE?

I just spoke on mic in 2 Way, explaining to the neocons that democracy isn't a panacea. As we just saw in the Palestinian elections, in a broken society, with no security and an angry population, the likelihood is that the people will vote for a strongman who will either save them from harm or fulfill their violent revenge fantasies. It seems like these PT wingnuts hold on to "democratic elections" like a fetish even when allowing elections in the absence of a secure society is going to leave us with a government in Iraq that might be more of a danger to us in the long run than Saddam.

Now, I finish up, and pass the mic to saltspring, the harbinger of "Peeance and Freeance" from the great white north. And this is what he says:

saltspring: "Well, you know, the Germans elected Hitler the first time around in their elections..."

Uh....what? Hello, moron, you just made my point a thousand times better than I ever could. Here's saltspring, who daily wraps himself in a 3-layered Canadian/American/Iraqi flag, (Man, it must get really cold up there) a man who tries to tell us how much his heart bleeds for the Iraqis, how proud he is they voted, who can barely speak through his tears about purple thumbs. Well, thanks, salty. If you ever listened to yourself, you'd have heard a wise man tell us why we should fear elections in Iraq: Because they may well elect their own Hitler.
