Well, just got done poking into Hondo's cage with a sharp stick. Not for nothing, but what is the deal with MrArchieBunker having a hat in Back to Mainstream? Has DommieGoddess lost her mind? Giving that simpleton a hat guarantees your room will quickly fill with the noxious, brackish filth staining the drains of Social Issues. Not even sulfuric acid is going to take up the slime trails left by Brute, slammer, and Nashot Chayl as they snuffle along the floor looking for carrion.

I tried to engage on a relatively clear topic, the recent revelation of illegal wiretapping on the order of King George. Now, I already know that the RNC has attempted to dirty the water by dumping fresh talking point chum, but I had no idea it had rooted so quickly into the wingnut brain. First, Nashot tried to present two executive orders proving that Carter and Clinton did exactly what Bush did. Sorry, boyo, you strike out again! Both Eos referred to spying approved under certification by the Attorney General, which is legal under FISA (and is NOT what Bush did), and the Clinton EO actually was the one that clarified the rules of FISA to include physical searches. Holy shit, guys, do you even bother to read these things before you try to shove them in our faces? Regular people might be fooled by GOP spin, but you're dealing with political ninjas here in PT. You'll be holding your spilling guts in your hands before you even realize the blade passed thru you.

Hondo tried to counter, but frankly, it was like being beaten mercilessly by a 4 year-old. It's just so darn cute, but no one's getting hurt. In response to genuine violations of federal law, and numerous citations of analysts left, right, and center affirming that Bush has broken federal law, if not violated the Constitution itself, Hondo can only muster pitiful whines about Dan Rather and Sandy Burger. Please, neocons, these are serious matters. You have to bring your "A" game. All in all, it was a magical trip through wingnut nonsense, but, much like after the Teacup ride, I'm feeling dizzy and vaguely nauseated.
