Maybe now people will start to see that the Democrats (finally) mean business. US Representative John Murtha (D-Pa) today called for IMMEDIATE withdrawal of US troops from Iraq. Murtha, 73, is a decorated former marine and has served in Congress since 1973. While he did make the grave mistake of supporting the war in the beginning, it seems that he has now come to his senses and realized that the proverbial wool was pulled over the eyes of too many members of Congress. The Iraq War, according to Murtha,
" is not going as advertised. It's a flawed policy wrapped in illusion. The American public is way ahead of the members of Congress."
Amen, Rep. Murtha. It's about time that these lawmakers started to realize that we the proletariet are not as easily fooled as they think. Hopefully this trend of republican ball-busting will continue, and we will soon see the end of this mistake of a war. It's good to know, at least, that the gears are beginning to turn in the democratic party, and people are starting to call for serious and prompt change. This should be a call to those across the board - whether they like to call themselves democrats, liberals, progressives, or even independants - to jump on the bandwagon and start to put more pressure on this administration. Now is the time to stop complaining and act. People like Murtha here and Harry Reid have set the stage for us - now it's time to pick up the ball and run with it. Plan a demonstration, contact your representatives - anything - just ACT. We can no longer afford to silently sit by while corruption runs rampant in our government. And it is only "we the people" who can make the difference.
"To sin by silence when they should protest makes cowards of men."
~Abraham Lincoln (A republican!)
