MY GREATEST MOMENT

I love my bill collection job. Today, a deadbeat said he wanted to "beat my ass" for calling him at 8 in the morning. According to him, he works 3rd shift and had just gone to bed. I explained that I was well within my rights to call him. He continued to berate me. After he hung up, I contacted my supervisor and registered a complaint against him. Very soon, the police will be knocking on his door and his family won't be having such a merry christmas (LOL).

Now, to all the deadbeats out there, this is the last time I say this: The money you are spending on your greedy kids is OUR money. The money you owe us for your loans. Got it? Good. Now, pay us or come the new year you will be crying the blues when we take your taxes and work wages.

AWW, ALL THE BEST JOKES ARE TAKEN

The Bushites announce plans to raise 500 million dollars for the George W. Bush Presidential Library:

Hey, once you ask, "How many copies of 'The Pet Goat' will that buy?"... I mean, hell, the jokes just write themselves, right?

But I think the more interesting story is that part of the money is going to be used to set up a "thinktank" that will hire conservatives to write papers promoting conservative ideology. Many conservatives, both in Paltalk and the wider world, act as though, or outright claim, that conservative books and ideas succeed solely because they are successful in the "marketplace of ideas," that ordinary Americans were so attracted to and won over by conservative ideas that that alone accounts for their popularity. This is, of course, complete bullshit.

What actually exists is a structure known colloquially as Wingnut Welfare. Wealthy donors, such as the Scaife family, the Coors family, Christian Reconstructionist Howard Ahmanson, etc, all give millions of dollars to a network of "thinktanks" and publications where conservatives produce papers and articles to push their noxious ideas into the public bloodstream. One excellent example is the Rev. Sun Myung Moon's Washington Times, which literally hemorrhages money, and is kept running to provide the illusion that conservative ideas are desired and supported by the public.

In fact, while many Americans were fooled for a long time into supporting some of the stated goals of modern Republicans, public opinion polls show that most Americans support abortion rights, environmental protection, fairer taxation (meaning progressively higher taxes on the wealthy), as well as worker protections, rises in the minimum wage, reasonable foreign policy and diplomacy, universal health care, stem cells, the list is endless.

Wealthy Republicans have PAID to push the conservative agenda, even when issue by issue, Americans support virtually none of it. How fitting that this simpering, shallow pretender the the presidency should look to suck at the wingnut teat to put disingenuous, prostituted scribes to work rewriting his legacy. What else did we expect? Honesty?

IT'S CHRISTMASTIME

It's Christmastime! A time for PEACE ON EARTH! .. Is that possible?

Reviewing the last few months, I'm thinking.. no. I do think the worse is yet to come.

Right now the WAR IN IRAQ is escalating out of control, worse than it's ever been, even though it was NEVER a good thing, now it is far, far, worse. Our troops have been placed in a precarious position-- in the middle of a FULLBLOWN CIVIL WAR.

We have lost so many countrymen and countrywomen to this war, they won't be at home celebrating with their families and loved friends.

They will never taste the sweetness of apple cider, hot chocolate, eggnog, hot toddys.. they will never open their sleepy eyes to sparkling christmastree lights.. won't hear the excited shouts of their children squealing in delight as they take the staircase, three steps at a time, to rush to see their treasures awaiting them under the beautifully decorated christmastree. They won't ever sigh with the happiness of spending the day with their families, exchanging stories of christmas' past... of exchanging news and secrets.

They won't be there. They won't ever be there again.

Instead, their families will be placing their picture on the mantle. A picture of a father, mother, sister, brother, son, daughter, husband, wife, or fiance will stare down at the family, reminding them of days gone by that will never be again. No more laughter, or smiles, or secrets, or kisses. No more embraces, or dates, or phone calls, or pictures.. ever.. again.

THIS WORLD FAMOUS SOLDIER MADE IT HOME ALIVE. THE PICTURE SAYS IT ALL.
It's Christmastime. Rejoice Mr.Bush. Rejoice.

EXPLAINING TO THE DUMBASSES

Ok, so I'm a bill collector by day and horror movie host on Friday and Saturday on my local CW network by night, sue me! I happened to review the list of deadbeats whose paychecks and SSI we are about to start garnishing and I licked my lips in glee at the thought of spoiling more peoples' holiday. One poor deadbeat is going to have $600 of his check taken every month and it's exciting. I hope I get that asshole on the phone and tell him how it is.

I see our stupid nameless commenters are eating this up like a free buffet at Denny's at 3:30am. I bet those are the same people I call at my job and listen to them whine, moan, and complain about their student loan bill. Yet, my warning goes unheeded about paying their bills on time and soon, more garnishments will come and more reasons to laugh and enjoy the month of December. (NO IPOD FOR JIMMY THIS YEAR! HAHAHAHAHAHA!) Again, I implore you deadbeats to return all the gifts you bought, make out the check or money and send it in. After all...it's our money, not yours!

NON-WHITE???? WTF???

Even in the holiday season, idiots still tend to be idiots. It's too bad that RushLimbo, said most of his racist remarks on the mic, but as one can see here it only takes one idiot to get the other imbeciles to chime in. The 'speech' that RushLimbo gave on the mic would have made the KKK proud. RushLimbo went on to say that 'blacks wanted hand outs from whitey' and 'blacks kept racism alive'. No matter how you try to spin Rush's words, no one can deny the words were meant as racist digs.

egalitarianism_2006: stop waiting for whitey to hand things out o u? whats that supposed to mean RUSH?

No_Strings: Nagan flushed his own people

RushLimbo: do you remember him saying he wanted segragation in New Orleans?

egalitarianism_2006: sounded pretty condecending to me

RushLimbo: Nagan proposes total segragation in NO

egalitarianism_2006: ur just a black man stop leaching of us whiteys

RushLimbo: black people hurt black people far more than white people have in the last 50 years

victicrat: Non-whites should stop waiting for a racist government to do anything for them

I'm always amazed; no matter how many times I hear it, as someone saying things as Rush did. So many try to say the African-Americans keep racists alive with wanting to remember history and making sure that history is written factually. Others complain that African-Americans want to have everything handled to them on a silver platter due to what their ancestries endured at the hands of others, this also amazes me.

How hard is it for people to realized that for years the balance of equality, simply did not exist. Certain races were allowed to improve themselves without restriction, while other races could lose their life just for learning how to read. The playing field was (some might say still) NOT fair nor level in any stretch of the imagination. How can people not understand that years of being held back by injustices hinders the ability for one to succeed. How can a person succeed when at every turn they are being denied basic rights? If one is not ALLOWED to read, how can they get a high paying job? If one is not ALLOWED try, how can they be successful?

So often I hear some say that African-Americans cause the damage to their race. Some will quote affirmative action and reparations, this lead me to ask the question, should the US gov't pay reparations to black people? There are plenty of decent-enough arguments for paying black people reparations, but my favorite one is the fact that we're already paying reparations to other groups.

For example, the US is already paying reparations to the Japanese that were interned during World War II, similarly, and quite obviously, none of the Arabs currently locked up in Gitmo and possibly other secret prisons around the world (where torture is still legal) flew any planes into the World Trade Center. Assuming they aren't members of al Qaeda, wouldn't they have just as much claim to reparations as the Japanese interned during World War II? Think about that: In 20 years from now, you and I might be cutting a check to someone who could've been a spy for Osama bin Laden, but black people who's ancestors worked for free for 400 years can't get shit.

I say the above to point out the context in which I generally find myself during conversations regarding race and politics. It usually goes something like this: I ask someone a question about their feelings regarding reparations, affirmative action, racial profiling, or the like, and they usually respond with a sharp, racist statement against black people. An example would be something like the following:

Me:

So what do you think about social welfare?”

Their answer:

Blacks already have enough handouts as it is! Why should my money go to someone who’s going to waste it on Jordans and having three kids by three men???!!! I’m not being racist either man, but I’m also not being politically correct. I’m being real about it.”

You see what’s happened here? Somehow a genuine, concerned question that pertains to all of America and beyond turns into black people being vilified. All I asked was about social welfare, in any nation. And what I got was why black people are worthless.

These types of conversations happen on a daily basis with me. I ask a question and typically receive an answer that has absolutely nothing to do with the question. And the same goes for affirmative action. The conversation degenerates into praise and blame, rather than discussing say, the meanings of these findings by Princeton University. I’ve got to say folks, the elitism and self righteousness (and selfishness) that I find really sickens me.

Final thought: if you’re against race-based politics, cool. But be civil with it, and quit with the racism shit. That “Culture of Poverty” associated with black people is really starting to get on my fucking nerves. If you’re against affirmative action, reparations, or whatever it is, talk about stats, figures, theories. Don’t talk about Ray Ray down the block who’s on crack with a pacifier in his mouth. As Angry Asian Man would say, that’s racist! Or, if you’re me, that’s some RAS (racist-ass-shit).

It is time for everyone to cry out against racism, in any form, to do any less would be an insult to humanity.

TIS THE SEASON PART 2: ATTACK OF THE GREEDY DEADBEATS!

Well, Once again the fucking deadbeats have come out to show themselves. I knew this was going to happen. They are the type of people who neglect their student loan bill and go buy their fat, filthy, shameful children an XBOX 360 or Playstation 3 instead of honoring their commitment to what paid their education in the first place. Then these same idiots call after their loan defaults and their wages are garnished. LISTEN UP, your student loan comes first. Pay on it like you are supposed to and you won't have me calling your house on a Saturday morning at 8 am. I mean, after all, it is our money...you owe it to us and we are coming to get it. Now, do as you are told and take back the XBOX or Blu-ray DVD player and pay your fucking bills or it won't be a merry Christmas next year, you fucking deadbeat Christmas loving jerkoffs!

TIS THE SEASON OF GREED

Oh for fucks sake. Its Nov.24, the day after thanksgiving. You know what that means, the christmas season is here and I FUCKING HATE IT! Yes, you read that right. I hate the holiday season and everything. I sat down and wrote this letter to the president.

Dear Mr.Bush:
Please cancel the Christmas season. I am sick of it. There is nothing to celebrate this year. This holiday is nothing but greed and lies.
Thank you.
Zombiemaster

I hope he does becuase its a bunch of shit. People should use the money to pay their bills and take care of the less fortune than them. We have become a nation filled with greedy people and we have perverted the holidays into the cry of wanting, not giving. So, please join me in stamping out this fucked up bulshit season.

Thank you for reading.

JOKERS AND OTHER WILD CARDS

The hits keep coming and coming. If you check out the comments section in any of my posts you can see the attempt to be shouted down by the usual crowd of fucktards. Now, the latest gambit is a call for me to kill myself. Sorry, I plan on living a very long, long time and posting many, many award winning nuggets of wisdom. You say the world is laughing at me, you're wrong. The world is laughing at you, my friend. (shit, even my cats are laughing at your sorry ass). As far as the call to get me kicked off the rattler, its been tried before and it didn't work.

So here is how it goes down, punks.
1. I will not shut up.
2. I will outlast any of you who try to bring me down.
3. The world is laughing at you, not me.
4. Write all the shit and lies about me all you want, it don't change the fact that I am better than you and you fucking know it.
5. They will remember me before they remember you.

Bottom line: If you want a slander war, I'm right here and you better pack a fucking lunch because I can go a long, long time. The ball is in your court now.

GIVE HIM A CRAYON SO HE CAN TAKE NOTES

Keith Olbermann educates Dubya about Vietnam:

The parallels between Vietnam and Iraq are becoming more and more clear. Lies, corruption, stubborn obstinacy. If LBJ had slept sucking his thumb with a stuffed monkey, the resemblance would be virtually identical.

NOT AGAIN

Once again racism lifts its ugly head and discredits us all. It seems lately that the US has lost it's freaking mind. Comedians using racist terms on all sides. Politicians molesting, lying, stealing from both parties. Is it any wonder such actions are being pursued in paltalk-land? As much as most would not like to admit it, what they see celebrities do others often emulate, and why would you expect differently. Some of these guys are neo-nuts others are just plain nuts, yet they are in a dangerous growing population of people allowing their thinking to be done for them. Here see and decide on your own, are these comments below racist in nature to you?

LUMlNOL: can you unban voo? he promises he'll act more white

B_itchmaster_1: LUMINOL...Lord Poo cant act more white than already is..Hes an Uncle Tom

How much do you all want to bet me the neo-nuts & racists will come and say none of the above was racist, since the "n" word wasn't used?

NEONUTS ANONYMOUS

Anonymous said...

"Any GOOD leader takes responsibility for his "troops" actions regardless if he had anything to do with it. A good coach takes responsibility for a bad game instead of blaming it on his team. Bush is a good leader in that respect."

Methinks I've shat myself! Is this anonynut completely daft? BUSH IS A GOOD LEADER IN THAT RESPECT? Is this the same Bush who blamed Iraq for attacking the WTC despite evidence to the contrary? AND THEN has the audacity to blame the Intelligence Community for the qWagmire in Iraq when he realized his bucket-o-lies had been spilled on every newsstand in America? Is this the same Bush who refuses to take responsiblity for the torture and maltreatment of POWs at Abu Ghraib Prison? Is this the same Bush who fired "you're doing a fine job, Browny" only after massive public outcry against the Katrina travesty? Is this the same Bush who refused to accept responsibility for the gross mishandling of the Iraqi War by Donald Rumsfeld - and dismissed him only after a disasterous election for the GOP?

George Bush has no concept of setting and enforcing standards - he has no standards, other than political expediency. George Bush is a craven coward and morally bankrupt - it is in his nature to shift accountability to others. George Bush does not set the example for his troops - he murders his troops and lauds his hit squad. "A good leader in that respect" my ass!

FUN TIME IS OVER!

Ok, it seems that my last post stirred up some trouble with the photographer's blog. If those two fucktards had done what I asked them to and taken all their slanderous shit off about me, everything would be fine, but they didn't. So, they went and started a slander blog about me. Well, thats just fine. They say payback is a bitch and karma bites back hard. This proves that they have no value in the arena of political talk in paltalk or anywhere. Also, this means that I won the war. Thats right boys, you lost and I won, so go sit on that and spin around for a few and let it sink in that you got beat by a horror movie fan who cares more about the US than either them or the local nutjobs at Conservastink. I may not have held a political office or have a degree in political science , but i know more about how the leaders in the capitol affect the lives of normal Americans who suffer through the daily grind.

These idiots at the photographer and Conservastink enjoy watching the middle class scrape and suffer while shitting in their solid gold toilets with the silver handles. I pray to God for a tax increase for the rich and a huge tax increase for big business in coming years and a huge cut in the middle class and lower classes. I believe the more you make, the more you pay in taxes. I believe that Churches should be taxed at 30% of what they bring in. I believe that the church TV and radio stations need to be taken off the air and that we as people should be free of any of their involvement in all parts of society.

I also believe that Fox News, Rush Limbaugh and all the rightwing nutjobs should be tossed off the air and Rupert Murdock should be tossed in jail for perverting the news and lying to the American people. He also needs to be held responsible for helping throw both the 2000 and 2004 elections.
But, that my personal viewpoint and it don't mean shit in the realm of the world because you've got nutjobs like archie and attila ready to stand up and cry, "Foul!" Well, to those who cry foul I say with a loud voice, "FUCK YOU!" So, for blogs like the photographer and the Conservastinkers, I say be ready to be thrown into the valley of bad ideas who never should have seen the light.

How do you like me now, motherfuckers?

WELCOME TO THE FIESTA!

I just noticed how many comments we are getting lately. It's great that people are finding a lot to talk about, if by "talking" you mean "stabbing." To all our friends in the comments, welcome! And I'll say again, to those in the comments, if you want to join the masthead, so to speak, and write honest-to-goodness posts instead of comments, PM me anytime. That only goes for those who are willing to attach a nick to their words, of course. Courage is apparently not a conservative value. Must have been crowded out by hitting on young boys and snorting crystal meth off a hooker's ass.

PUNCHING OUT THE PHOTOGRAPHER

If you have been on the social issues photo album website as of late, you will notice that the fucktards who "run" the site are taking a bunch of shots at me lately. I dont mind some of the posts but I think what they fail to realize is that I am a dangerous man to deal with. I went out and got a few of my friends and showed them the site and they didn't appreciate what they saw. Well, be prepared for what is coming and I hope you got a lot of film because it's my turn now and there will be no mercy on you.

Unless you stop posting bullshit about me, I bear no responsibility on what is to come. You have been warned.

BIAS, THY NAME IS FOX NEWS

Secret memo, now public, instructs Fox News bobbleheads on how to slant the news to favor conservatives. Of course, our anonymous harpies will likely try to push the focus onto the bias they imagine seeing in other media sources, (Note: reality has a well known liberal bias) but I wonder if they will even try to explain the blatant bias in this memo. Is it valid? Justifiable? Is this what you think journalism is supposed to be?

NEO-NUTS

I just cannot hold back anymore (I know I have been so quiet lol), I just got to say something about the seemly lack of... well everything with neo-nuts. Too many times I see a neo-nut bitching about a thread that 'burns' them. The funny thing is that those threads are always about some paltalkian and their stupidity, threads that have to do with someone using a racist slur or some silly thing some cretin posted in a room like hoping that Republicans win ever if it is by cheating. On the other hand, one would be hard pressed to find these same neo-nuts commenting on a thread that has something to do about politics, even though they bitch no writer for The Rattle bothers with political issues. At times one might find a neo-nut brave enough to attempt a comment in a political thread, yet if you are looking for them to bring any thing of value to the thread you will be greatly disappointed. If a neo-nut does in fact dare a political thread all you will get from them is more insults and bashes.

Now I do have respect for some Conservatives and even some Republicans, but neo-nuts are the bottom of the barrel in the world of blogs and yes dare I say it, paltalk. Neo-nuts really should be pitied, in fact I feel for conservatives that have to deal with such people. Now I know myself I will not defend a person that is a complete jackass just due to the fact that he/she is supposedly the same mind frame as myself in politics. There a few so call liberals that truly are as insane as the neo-nuts, but one major difference I have seen is that more Republicans will jump up and defend those neo-nuts that they cant even stomach, why? Perhaps since I refuse to tunnel vision my political view and do not belong to a party is why I cannot understand such blindness. I have taken the time lately to watch democrats and see if they do the same thing as republicans in this regard. To be completely honest with you I have not seen democrats defend jackasses in the same numbers, now maybe I have missed such occurrences but I seriously doubt it.

Once upon a time parties meant something, rather one was speaking about the republicans or democrats and in my opinion people had every right to be proud of their party, since it seemed parties at one time did 'practice what they preached' (well for politicians). This is no longer the situation, the current republican admin has gone so far away from their roots true republicans felt the need to vote democratically. This present admin has spent more money and created larger government than democrats could have ever dreamt of, this is so far from the republican roots it baffles the mind. Yet I still see republicans believing they would be betraying their party if they spoke out against the current republican admin, why?

Democrat party seems to be heading in the same direction as the republican party with betraying their roots. I will admit I was taken back a bit when I heard that democrats that had just won mid term elections were leaning more in the direction of more troops in Iraq then redeployment and they many of these democrats were against any type of time table. I just truly hope that democrats in general will not allow their party to also lose their way. Yet, I can still say that most democrats will not defend someone only because they are of the same party. Although not all republicans do this, I see a great number in blogs that do, greater than I see democrats doing it, And that brings us back to the neo-nuts.

In case you aren't sure what a neo-nut is, let me help you out. Neo-nuts like to make fun of others, they use many references to trailer trash, idiots, morons, whiners, etc... yet references to facts or even sites to back their 'claims are far and few in between. Now there is a saying that goes something like this 'people talk about what they know'. Now using this logic it seems that neo-nuts are the trailer trash, idiots, morons, whiners, etc... since they are always making reference to them. Neo-nuts don't read and comprehend anything based in logic or facts, they are the ones that truly believe the President of the US is a semi-god and therefore should never be doubted or questioned. Neo-nuts are the ones that think condoms are against the will of whatever God they worship and that sex should be viewed as a nasty deed to only be done with the lights out and only for the purpose of procreating. Neo-nuts are the ones that think beating a child is ok as long as you are Christian when you are doing it (spare the rod don't you know). Neo-nuts are the ones that think it is their right to determine how others may live and die. Neo-nuts are the ones that think science is the work of the devil, trying to corrupt all of our souls (stem cell research ring a bell?). Neo-nuts are the ones that scream abortion is a sin against God (whose God I can only assume they are referring to their own version, so much for freedom of religion huh) and then they turn around and bitch about a child that is fed by food stamps. Neo-nuts are the ones that claim to be loving Christians, yet they are the first ones to throw stones (maybe someone should remind them of Jesus saying something about those without sin...). Neo-nuts are the ones that were the school-yard bullies and the ones that think murder; in certain situations of course, is a good thing and damn it they are the ones that know when and who should be killed.

Now noticed I said neo-nuts, this does NOT in anyway include all of the republican party or conservatives, although I am sure some will be typing their little old fingers off defending the neo-nuts, why?

Why would anyone want to defend another that is judgmental, hypocritical, freedom hater, sexually repressed, clueless wonders? How can anyone justify their reasons for defending such boils on society? To stand up with another that on a daily bases advocates violence and death of other humans? How can one defend another that; for lack of better word(s), are soulless?

Neo-nuts, I am so happy that you come here to the Rattler, it allows others of discernment to be able to speak in chatrooms and as an added bonus you are allowed to show your self-afflicted lack of education with each and every comment you make here. It is my wish for humanity that others will be enlighten to the neo-nuts insanity and depravation, for neo-nuts to expose themselves for the sad, lonely, and pitiful people they are. But until then, lets just have some fun and bash a neo-nut ;o)

"EVEN IF WE HAVE TO CHEAT"

Well now that elections are done with (if one doesn't count FLA) I couldn't help but post this which shows that mind frame of many of the neo-nut republicans. Now a neo-nut is beyond a republican, even beyond a neo-con. Neo-nuts are those people that no matter what facts occur, they never, ever 'see the light'. Neo-nuts are the ones that are now trying to say that the republicans did in fact win and that the '06' elections was completely planned so republicans could get a second wind.

I just couldn't resist to use this little tidbit of neo-nut wisdom pre-election by one of my all time favorite neo-nuts, Captain Ballbuster.

CAPTAIN BALLBUSTER: YOU LIBERALS CAN GO STRAIGHT TO HELL.

CAPTAIN BALLBUSTER: BUSH WILL PICK UP SEATS IN 10 DAYS.

CAPTAIN BALLBUSTER: EVEN IF WE HAVE TO CHEAT.

CAPTAIN BALLBUSTER: WHICH I HOPE THE GOPS CHEATS LIKE HELL.

See I always knew that neo-nut would stoop to any level to be able to say they won the election, they do NOT give one iota for their fellowmen. All neo-nuts want to be able to say is "We won", neo-nuts do not care what is good for the country nor can they see beyond their own desires.

All I guess I can say to the like such as Captain is, "Sorry you guys are such bad cheaters. I mean how pitiful is it to hope that the GOP cheats, isn't that like an admittance that they knew the GOP didn't have a chance? I mean how could anyone say they hope that their party cheats, how is that showing the world that your party is the best? I'm not surprised that Democrats picked up the seats they did with mind frames such as Captain's, not to mention the America people were getting so fed up with all the lies and false reassurances. What does surprise me is how the exact same people that have been calling all LIBERALS traitors and terrorist sympathizers are now trying to say how conservational won out in the elections. For years all I have heard most republicans say, is how their party was for small government and less spending, yet the present admin has spent way more money than the democrats would have dared dreamt of and government became the biggest ever in America History under Bush.

Perhaps cause I do not belong to any party explains my confusion over others blindness. I would never be able to support any party that did the exact opposite of what they claim to believe in. I do know that many republicans have said that the present admin has sold them out, that the republican party not is not the party they grew up believing in, but what I can't get is why did they keep their mouths shut about this until after the republicans lost.

Thank goodness the American people in large care enough about their families and their fellowmen and got out and voted this year, thank goodness most are NOT like Captain. Unfortunately there still are too many that believe as Captain (such as Fmr Attorney General John Ashcroft who was quoted as saying 'If you don't side with this government, you are only aiding the terrorists) and they are those we should all be concerned with. Those that could rejoice in a victory, even if they knew it was gained by 'cheating', those that will forever follow blindly waiting for someone to tell them what to do and how to think, those that willingly turn a deaf ear to the outcry of their fellowmen, those are the true traitors to our country.

Maybe people such as Fmr Attorney General Ashcroft and Captain should read a bit more of Teddy Roosevelt, who's wisdom is everlastingly in quotes such as:

"The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life."
&

"To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."

GO, FDA, GO!!! (NOT TOO SURE ABOUT THIS)

Go, FDA, Go!!! Our hard working FDA is on the ball with an antibiotic called Ketek, the news reported today, or is it? I can't help but get slightly annoyed when I see such 'news breaking stories' hitting the mass media. Now with the shift in power at the Hill I had thought that perhaps the media would once again start reporting facts without mis-direction by omitting. I guess I expected too much from our media, whatever was I thinking?

Although to hear the news today, the FDA is on the ball watching out for new medicine and the possible side-effects such medicine might cause. Well don't be too quick on jumping on that 'Go, FDA, Go' bandwagon. I want to re-post a thread I did back in June of this year about the FDA and get this, it even had to do with the FDA's actions on this same antibiotic Ketek (you can see the original thread here), I'm taking this time to re-post the thread, I think some will be amazed at what they discover.

Well lets see how well the FDA is doing

Well lets see how well the FDA is doing to protect our children from antibiotics that just might have a high risk of liver damage, live failure or even death. This 'new' antibiotic is manufactured by Sanofi-Aventist under name of Ketek. Now the FDA in May called for Sanofi-Aventist to halt clinical trials of an antibiotic in children because the drug could be deadly, according to internal memorandums sent to other F.D.A. officials. The drug Ketek is being testing in about 4000 infants and children for ear infections world wide, including United States.

There is growing evidence that Ketek is toxic at unusually high numbers from trials over the past two years. So far there has been as least four deaths caused from Ketek. Well the FDA is doing it job, right? Well…. read on then decide. More than 5 million scripts have been written to adults since its approval 2 years ago, now some safety officials of FDA wrote in their review that the agency should consider forcing Sanofi-Aventis to withdraw Ketek from the market, severely restrict its uses, even in adults, or add a prominent warning to its label about potentially fatal side effects.

Dr. Rosemary Johann-Liang, an official in the Office of Drug Safety at the agency, had this to say "How does one justify balancing the risk of fatal liver failure against one day less of ear pain?" (sounding good so far….right?) Sanofi-Aventis first asked the agency to approve the drug in February 2000. But officials demurred, citing reports of side effects. So the company undertook a study of Ketek in 24,000 patients to prove its safety. The trial was marred by fraud. One of the investigators on the study is now in federal prison; another lost his medical license.

(Now here comes the part with FDA) The F.D.A. said it dismissed the study's results and instead asked the company to report its experience with Ketek in Europe, where it was approved in 2001. Although it is unusual for the agency to approve a drug based upon its use elsewhere, in April 2004, it did just that, approving Ketek to treat sinusitis, bronchitis and pneumonia. Sanofi-Aventis had planned to give Ketek as a first-line therapy, in laymen terms they planned on Ketek being given out as first option for antibiotic treatments.

Since this company report to FDA it seems that Ketek problems have grown, by April, the agency had reports of 110 cases of liver problems associated with Ketek, most of which occurred in otherwise healthy people, according to the safety review. In one, a 49-year-old woman took no more than two doses of the drug before becoming nauseous and vomiting. She was hospitalized five days later and died.

Since then it has been estimated that Ketek caused acute liver failure in 23 people for every 10 million prescriptions, about four times the rate of such events seen in other antibiotics.

Dr. Johann-Liang answer to this disturbing news was that Ketek's risks outweighed its benefits, she went on to note that powerful antibiotics known as fluoroquinolones can also damage the liver; but here's the kicker, fluoroquinolones are in intravenous form and for the use of serious infections unlike Ketek which is used for ear infections, tonsillitis and minor upper respiratory indications.

Dr. Danny Benjamin, an infectious-disease specialist at Duke University who was consulted separately by the drug agency, concluded that the pediatric trials with Ketek were a cause for concern and "hard to support," according to the memorandums obtained by The New York Times.

Asked about the memorandum written by Dr. Johann-Liang, an F.D.A. spokeswoman, Susan Bro, said that it was "a preliminary, raw assessment" and that "the final decision will be made by experts who have the full benefit of a large section of opinion and scientific fact." Melissa Feltmann, a spokeswoman for Sanofi-Aventis, said in an e-mail message, "We are engaged in ongoing discussions with the F.D.A. regarding Ketek."

The drug agency's actions in regard to Ketek are being investigated by Senator Charles E. Grassley, the Iowa Republican who is chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, as well as by Representatives Edward J. Markey of Massachusetts and Henry A. Waxman of California, both Democrats.

Since they are submitted voluntarily, these kinds of case reports usually represent only a small fraction - estimates range from 1 percent to 10 percent - of actual drug problems. The reports that the F.D.A. has received so far are unusual because of their "rapid tempo and severity," the agency's internal safety report said.

Now don't go fretting yet, some are saying there needs to be precautions like perhaps as the safety officials wrote in their review that the agency should consider forcing Sanofi-Aventis to withdraw Ketek from the market, severely restrict its uses, even in adults, or add a prominent warning to its label about potentially fatal side effects. Also as a precaution Dr. Johann-Liang added that the parents "need to know that the 'close monitoring' for visual events is not possible in very young children, and the long-term consequences of such adverse reactions are unknown for the developing system and Dr. Benjamin agreed that the brochure about the trials and informed-consent material given to parents "must address in plain language the risks, and severity of risks, of adverse events."

Now wouldn't you think that parents would have been warned of the possible side effects (including death) could be the result of this medicine? Why is it that the FDA allowed such unusual exceptions for Ketek?

Well Ladies and Gentlemen I am starting to think my grandfather has been right all along. Those pharmaceutical companies are profit only and if a few hundred, thousand, million people died (including children and infants) it's ok as long as it is in the name of science.

So what do you think about this? I know one thing I'm now wondering what other 'medicines' that are out there worst than the ailment.

Although, today's 'News Breaking Story' did include even more possible side-effects from Ketek, I did NOT see one news station informing people of all the other side-effects of this antibiotic. There was no reference made to the fact this is NOT the first time Ketek has 'come under fire', it seemed all the mass media was reporting this story as though Ketek has been gewtting rave reviews till now.

Now I'm in a pickle, is the FDA that slow moving on information given to them, or is our media too busy reporting sensitizing news to know a Real News Story, when one comes around?

We, as the general public, should demand the media holds up to it's obligation to the public and report the news, I mean if I want to know about Britney Spears, I would tune into "E".

SORE LOSERS

Ummm, the elections are a week in the bag and all I hear is the usual shit coming from the losers' camp. Republicans are by far the sorest and sorriest bunch of losers I've ever heard on the blogs and in paltalk. Admit it, you guys lost because your "stay the course" and "tax cuts for the rich" is getting old and worn. America wanted to hear a fresh voice with new ideas on how to solve our troubles. Next you say that our victory is a victory for the terrorists. Um...the last time I checked I think our victory was a victory for the world in general. I think it's time for me to do something I have been thinking about doing for a long while...I'm opening a mental ward for the loonies of paltalk and politics in general. See below for a complete list of those who will be locked away for corrective action.

1. Jay_156

Oh yes, these 11 will have the displeasure of spending the rest of their lives deprived of Fox News and will be forced to listen to Air America radio 24 hours a day. On top of it all they will only read the NY Times and nothing else. Maybe then will they get the idea that their way is a way to death and our way is a way to peace and safety.

PS: Fuck you to that gutless wonder AP. You make me sick and I hope that you are exposed for what you are, a worthless piece of shit someone forgot to flush.

BLASPHEMY!

Sheikh Yur Buotty: Voo I still own the deed to your great grandfather

Anonymous said...

Well Claus, You fit the bill. Moral relativism to me sounds like you. A guy with a nic name that makes a bigoted slur towards a sect of religion. But you won't address that will you. You haven't addressed it thus far in the blog, so I don't see you having the manhood to stand up and address it now. You call Voo a jackass for his comment, but yet your name speaks volumes because it IS your comment. How typical for a lefty. Now run off and hide like you always do. You've lost the argument before it even began.

PS: To the other readers: It's not as if Claus isn't aware of the comments about his name in this post or the others. His email is automatically updated from eblogger with each and every comment. But yet he remains silent about the issue. Why? Seems like now would be a good time to debate the issue and give his explaination.

This has never made any sense to me. My nic expresses my personal beliefs. You don't have a right to not be offended. You have to accept other people's expression of their beliefs. The person who made the comment about Voo's ancestor also has a right to make his statement.

In a society where people are allowed to express any idea openly, the only way we have to respond, or rather, the only correct way, is to express our disgust and disapproval. I didn't post that comment in an effort to have it censored or expunged. I posted it to hold it up to ridicule and disdain as the noxious, toxic bile that it was.

You also have the right, as you have been, to hold my nic up to public scrutiny. I think you'll find, however, that most people are more troubled, and more sickened, by the kind of racism Sheikh Yur Buotty expressed, than by my nickname.

Actually, the two issues seem to form an inverse pattern. For hundreds of years, if not more, society tolerated and even endorsed racist attitudes, ideas, and behaviors. It is only now that such ideas are disapproved of. Inversely, for thousands of years, organized religions prohibited any expression of blasphemy, and punished those expressions with prison, torture, and death. The justification for those punishments actually is similar to your argument, that a blasphemer insults the believer, and god, by his words. In modern times, we have evolved to a point where we allow people the freedom of thought to express blasphemous ideas openly without fear.

So, your argument is fairly absurd. My expression of blasphemy is perfectly reasonable and acceptable, and you have no recourse but try and fan the flames of disapproval. On the other hand, one who expresses the kind of virulent racist nastiness that Sheikh did, will find almost every hand of man turned against him, and all I need do is simply accurately report what he wrote.

Now, are you done with your pitiful hand-wringing over this issue? Because it bores me.

DRINK IT IN, REPUKES

From Bob Cesca at The Huffington Post [LINK]:

Last week, I described a nightmare scenario in which the Republicans won the midterm prompting the president, high on mandate juice, to form the Department of Shut The F*** Up, headed by a sock puppet named Secretary Fiddlesticks.

Now that the Democrats have taken back the Congress and 51+ percent of America finally has a voice in government again, I think it's time to seriously let fly. So at the risk of sounding contentious in this all-too-genuine era (several days) of bipartisanship, here now is a roll call of people who must officially shut the f*** up.

1) Republican trolls who wrap up their anonymous and incomprehensible criticisms of progressives with the phrase, "and that's why your party never wins," need to shut the f*** up.

2) The cowards who so easily disregard our liberties by shrugging off the president's illegal wiretapping; the cowards who shrug off the Military Commissions Act and the death of habeas corpus; and the cowards who shrug off torture with the phrases, "I'm not doing anything wrong, so I have nothing to worry about," or, "You can't [blank] if you're dead," ought to shut the f*** up.

3) Anyone who still believes that global warming is a myth? Shut the f*** up.

4) Rush Limbaugh must shut the f*** up. On second thought, strike that. The more we see Violet Beauregard flapping his arms and mocking Parkinson's patients, the better off the rest of the nation will be.

5) In Ann Coulter's latest column, he wondered when the Democrats would be fitting Senator-Elect Jon Tester with a "leotard." Speaking of tards, Mr. Coulter needs to shut the f*** up. And this order stands for anyone who claims Senator-Elect Tester is a "conservative Democrat." He could very well be the face of the New Progressive Democrat and one of the most genuine lawmakers elected Tuesday. Prediction: if he isn't already, Tester will quickly become a rock star in this party.

6) I think it was Bill Maher who mentioned this but it stands repeating here: neocons who have made multiple rosy predictions about Iraq need to shut the f*** up and are forthwith banned from making any more predictions.

7) Sean Hannity, Bill O'Reilly and other homophobes who use the "San Francisco Liberal" label for Speaker-Elect Pelosi must... you know. We all understand that it's right-wing code language meaning "homo-values." If that's what you mean, just say it. That is, unless you're not man enough.

8) If you still believe that Karl Rove is a genius, wizard, architect or anything short of overrated, you must shut the f*** up. One popular vote loss, one win, one near loss to a disorganized opponent and one outright loss means one thing and one thing only: mediocrity. Racking up this kind of record by means of dirty tricks, race-baiting and questioning the patriotism of decorated war veterans makes Rove a mediocre hack at best.

9) Ed Gillespie, the man who's just a neck with a mouth, is officially ordered for the last time to shut the f*** up.

10) The devilish wordsmiths who think it's strategic and clever to refer to the Democratic Party as the "Democrat Party" need to stop it. Shut the f*** up. The official name of the party is the Democratic Party, with the "ic" at the end. Yeah, I know. Newt Gingrich and Frank Luntz invented the idea of saying "Democrat Party" or "the Democrat leadership" or "the Democrat voters" in order to emphasize the "rat" syllable, leaving a rat-like subliminal hint in the minds of listeners. President Bush, in his so-called "conciliatory" press conference Wednesday, used this incorrect pronunciation several times.

"And while the ballots are still being counted in the Senate, it is clear the Democrat Party had a good night last night, and I congratulate them on their victories."

"This morning I spoke with Republican and Democrat leadership in the House and Senate."

"...we'll begin consultations with the Democrat leadership starting Thursday and Friday."

"...and now work with Democrat leaders in the Congress because they control the committees and they control the flow of bills."

"We got some tax cuts passed with Democrat votes."

11) And finally... Mr. President. Saying that you're going to work with Congress and compromise for the sake of the nation doesn't mean shoving your unconstitutional Terrorist Surveillance Act and your bellicose anti-U.N. U.N. ambassador through a lame duck session. So if you don't really intend to be bipartisan, then shut the f*** up. You pride yourself on letting people know exactly where you stand and, despite the fact that you routinely stand on dangerous principles, there's at least some cold comfort in knowing what you're up to. But it's clear that that President Bush is long gone -- replaced by a man who can't even be honest with his own base about things like the Iraq War, subsequently leaving his allies alone, confused and scrambling to assuage the anger of an increasingly hostile constituency. This last part? Keep it up, thank you.

And that's the roll call. I've spent the last several days not only breathing in the sweet aroma of real-life governmental checks and balances, but I've also been evaluating where we go from here. Clearly Speaker-Elect Pelosi and the Democratic leadership have the daunting task of working with the White House to not only push through vital pieces of legislation, but they also must do so in a way that doesn't raze their chances for further pickups in 2008. It goes without saying that any misstep in the face of this Republican Party (and its media lapdogs) could spell disaster. So they have to play nice in some ways, but you and I are best served by remaining on the attack and never hesitating to tell those who deserve it to shut the f*** up.

------
UPDATE: I've been told that Joe McCarthy was the first to use the "Democrat [sic] Party" misnomer. However, its use became much more pervasive when Gingrich and Luntz practically made it mandatory in the ranks of the GOP.

Bob, can you make a few extra cups? There's a few people in Paltalk who look thirsty...

BULLSEYE!

Columnist Maureen Dowd explains the midterm elections of 2006 (hat tip to AMERICAblog):

Republicans were oddly oblivious to the fact that they had turned into a Thomas Nast cartoon: an unappetizing tableau of bloated, corrupt, dissembling, feckless white hacks who were leaving kids unprotected. Tom DeLay and Bob Ney sneaking out of Congress with dollar bills flying out of their pockets. Denny Hastert playing Cardinal Bernard Law, shielding Mark Foley. Rummy, cocky and obtuse as he presided over an imploding Iraq, while failing to give young men and women in the military the armor, support and strategy they needed to come home safely. Dick Cheney, vowing bullheadedly to move full speed ahead on Iraq no matter what the voters decided. W. frantically yelling about how Democrats would let the terrorists win, when his lame-brained policies had spawned more terrorists.

And that's that.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR RUMMY...

TIME Magazine:

Exclusive: Charges Sought Against Rumsfeld Over Prison Abuse

A lawsuit in Germany will seek a criminal prosecution of the outgoing Defense Secretary and other U.S. officials for their alleged role in abuses at Abu Ghraib and Gitmo
Just days after his resignation, Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld is about to face more repercussions for his involvement in the troubled wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. New legal documents, to be filed next week with Germany's top prosecutor, will seek a criminal investigation and prosecution of Rumsfeld, along with Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, former CIA director George Tenet and other senior U.S. civilian and military officers, for their alleged roles in abuses committed at Iraq's Abu Ghraib prison and at the U.S. detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
The plaintiffs in the case include 11 Iraqis who were prisoners at Abu Ghraib, as well as Mohammad al-Qahtani, a Saudi held at Guantanamo, whom the U.S. has identified as the so-called "20th hijacker" and a would-be participant in the 9/11 hijackings. As TIME first reported in June 2005, Qahtani underwent a "special interrogation plan," personally approved by Rumsfeld, which the U.S. says produced valuable intelligence. But to obtain it, according to the log of his interrogation and government reports, Qahtani was subjected to forced nudity, sexual humiliation, religious humiliation, prolonged stress positions, sleep deprivation and other controversial interrogation techniques.
Lawyers for the plaintiffs say that one of the witnesses who will testify on their behalf is former Brig. Gen. Janis Karpinski, the one-time commander of all U.S. military prisons in Iraq. Karpinski — who the lawyers say will be in Germany next week to publicly address her accusations in the case — has issued a written statement to accompany the legal filing, which says, in part: "It was clear the knowledge and responsibility [for what happened at Abu Ghraib] goes all the way to the top of the chain of command to the Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld.

A spokesperson for the Pentagon told TIME there would be no comment since the case has not yet been filed.

Along with Rumsfeld, Gonzales and Tenet, the other defendants in the case are Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence Stephen Cambone; former assistant attorney general Jay Bybee; former deputy assisant attorney general John Yoo; General Counsel for the Department of Defense William James Haynes II; and David S. Addington, Vice President Dick Cheney's chief of staff. Senior military officers named in the filing are General Ricardo Sanchez, the former top Army official in Iraq; Gen. Geoffrey Miller, the former commander of Guantanamo; senior Iraq commander, Major General Walter Wojdakowski; and Col. Thomas Pappas, the one-time head of military intelligence at Abu Ghraib.

Germany was chosen for the court filing because German law provides "universal jurisdiction" allowing for the prosecution of war crimes and related offenses that take place anywhere in the world. Indeed, a similar, but narrower, legal action was brought in Germany in 2004, which also sought the prosecution of Rumsfeld. The case provoked an angry response from Pentagon, and Rumsfeld himself was reportedly upset. Rumsfeld's spokesman at the time, Lawrence DiRita, called the case a "a big, big problem." U.S. officials made clear the case could adversely impact U.S.-Germany relations, and Rumsfeld indicated he would not attend a major security conference in Munich, where he was scheduled to be the keynote speaker, unless Germany disposed of the case. The day before the conference, a German prosecutor announced he would not pursue the matter, saying there was no indication that U.S. authorities and courts would not deal with allegations in the complaint.
In bringing the new case, however, the plaintiffs argue that circumstances have changed in two important ways. Rumsfeld's resignation, they say, means that the former Defense Secretary will lose the legal immunity usually accorded high government officials. Moreover, the plaintiffs argue that the German prosecutor's reasoning for rejecting the previous case — that U.S. authorities were dealing with the issue — has been proven wrong.

"The utter and complete failure of U.S. authorities to take any action to investigate high-level involvement in the torture program could not be clearer," says Michael Ratner, president of the Center for Constitutional Rights, a U.S.-based non-profit helping to bring the legal action in Germany. He also notes that the Military Commissions Act, a law passed by Congress earlier this year, effectively blocks prosecution in the U.S. of those involved in detention and interrogation abuses of foreigners held abroad in American custody going to back to Sept. 11, 2001. As a result, Ratner contends, the legal arguments underlying the German prosecutor's previous inaction no longer hold up.

Whatever the legal merits of the case, it is the latest example of efforts in Western Europe by critics of U.S. tactics in the war on terror to call those involved to account in court. In Germany, investigations are under way in parliament concerning cooperation between the CIA and German intelligence on rendition — the kidnapping of suspected terrorists and their removal to third countries for interrogation. Other legal inquiries involving rendition are under way in both Italy and Spain.

U.S. officials have long feared that legal proceedings against "war criminals" could be used to settle political scores. In 1998, for example, former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet — whose military coup was supported by the Nixon administration — was arrested in the U.K. and held for 16 months in an extradition battle led by a Spanish magistrate seeking to charge him with war crimes. He was ultimately released and returned to Chile. More recently, a Belgian court tried to bring charges against then Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon for alleged crimes against Palestinians.

For its part, the Bush Administration has rejected adherence to the International Criminal Court (ICC) on grounds that it could be used to unjustly prosecute U.S. officials. The ICC is the first permanent tribunal established to prosecute war crimes, genocide and other crimes against humanity

THE FAT LADY SINGS...

The fat lady sang a dolesome requiem for the neocons today, but it wasn't just any ordinary fat lady doing the singing; it was none other than George Felix Macacawitz Allen, hammering the final nail in the coffin of George Bush's PNAC agenda to destroy America and the middle class. The beast has been immobilized!

Macacawitz was, of course, the remaining holdout in the great neocon massacre of 2006. He and 44 of his Bushite bretheren, despite their all-too-familiar arrogance and fearmongering, experienced first-hand the wrath of an angry constituency. For the first time in American history, a political party has failed to capture a single seat from the opposition during an election. That fact speaks volumes!

And it didn't take long for the neonuts at the White House to make a thinly veiled attempt to explain away the spanking they received from the Democrats - the firing of one of the most loathesome creatures to ever hold a public office - an empty jesture that can only be described as an insult to the collective intelligence of the American people, as if they don't realize the new Secretary of Defense is simply a refurb of the old one. So much for heeding Tuesday's mandate for change.

This election has brought hope back to America. Bush will make overtures to the Democratic majorities in the House and the Senate as an attempt to equivocate the Tuesday night Massacre; but don't be so easily hornswoggled; this election has not changed George the Lesser one iota, rather, like Pharoah's obstinance of Biblical fame, it will harden his resolve to consummate the PNAC agenda. I suspect a flurry of hastily conjured neoconpoop planks before the 109th Congress is relegated to the dust bin of history as probably the worst in history. And I expect Bush will summarily devour the olive branch he has disingenuously extended to the new majority.

We liberals must remain vigilant; we must continue to oppose the lies, the murders, the corruption, and the totalitarian tactics employed by Smirk and his cronies to sate themselves with the blood and treasure of the middle class. We must not rest until the last ruin of PNAC is but a distant and obliterated artifice of tyranny. We must not accede to the impoverished machinations of a group who has so little regard for their own rights that they would swipe ours away with impunity. We must continue the fight to forever rid our great nation of those who would govern it into extinction. Election Day 2006 proved we still have the power to determine our destiny - we need only to realize that power...and to do so with great earnest!

We beat the bastards down! Let's bury the beast in 2008!

Vac

I HATE TO SAY I TOLD YOU SO.....

but,I told you so! The election went the way I said it was going to be. The house and Seante both went to the Dems. The American people have spoken and they told George W to put a sock in it. To those who doubted my word, (SLINK,ARCHIE,JAY,ATILLA,VIC,and AP), the line to kiss my (_)_) starts to the right and its only one kiss per turn and no frenching!

Thank you to all of you who voted. The election proves that we the people still make the rules and run the country!

SEND OUT THE AMBER ALERT

Well, it is midday Wednesday after one of the most resounding electoral defeats in modern American history, and Vic Ferrari has still not made an appearance in Social Issues. I'm beginning to worry he might have done something to hurt himself. I know! Let's call FBI Special Agent Jack Malone!

Even if they can't find him, at least we can check out Poppy Montgomery's cleavage in her not quite FBI standard issue uniform. Don't mind if I do!

CONGRATULATIONS AMERICANS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

COWARDS ARE NOWHERE TO BE FOUND

Well, the results are in, and it was pure carnage, a bloodbath like we haven't seen in a long time. Once the broken limbs and battered corpses are counted, it looks like Dems will take a commanding lead in the House, and will likely have a majority in the Senate.

And guess what? We have a large, no-ban room, but Vic Cowardi is nowhere in sight. Buttlogic is hiding in his hole. MrArchieLoser took the last bus out of town. jay156? Please, that punk is long gone.

The only ones left are the mildly impaired duo of JesSeado and MothersBruleSouix, who are too dizzy to notice how badly their asses got kicked. Saint Casey just said it on mic: "How sweet it is." You'd better believe it.

UPDATE - MrArchieBunker joined us, and, though it must gall him, he's classy enough to congratulate us on our victory. I'm not gonna hold my breath looking for similar maturity from people like Vic or Brute. They're beyond redemption.

THE NEXT ROOM

As much as I enjoy diversity of opinion and support free expression, there is something to be said for maintaining a minimum threshold. We just listened to 10 minutes of Bobby McHate harangue canadian butterfly, (herself a warbling glassy-eyed moron) responding to her tepid condemnation of atrocity by hanging every misdeed of the West around her neck. Bobby, you jackass, you can't wipe away the crimes of Islamic terrorists by ranting about pedophile priests.

Lucky for me, Raisin Cane started blaring, drowning out both of those numbskulls. Who would have thought I'd be grateful to hear a drunk hag scream at the voices in her head? So, what do you guys think? Do you like the freewheeling ban-free madhouse, or are you happier when someone locks Bobby and Raisin in their trunks and drops them in the deepest part of the ocean?

FILTHY GOP CAMPAIGN TACTICS

Once again, the Republicans have sunk to ever lower depths of campaign sleaze, this time with a gambit designed to suppress opposition votes. Democratic voters in several states are reporting that they are receiving automated calls from what initially sounds like the Democratic candidate. When they hang up, the calls are repeated several times, in a calculated bid to harass the voter into becoming angry at the Dem, to make them either change or withhold their vote. It is only at the end of a lengthy message (which most people would not wait for) that the call is credited to the Repub. In other states, voters are getting messages, supposedly from state officials, telling them falsely that they are not allowed to vote. These messages are also coming from GOP sources.

Now, before you neocon trolls try to hairsplit and weasel out, know that the FCC requires that robo-calls identify their origin at the beginning of the call. Many Repubs are admitting using these calls, but trying to claim they're legal. Most likely, they are not.

Now, some of you trolls have tried to claim that the Repubs are being honest and forthright, and running on the issues, while Dems are pulling all manner of dirty tricks. It is clear now that it is the Repubs who are dirty and underhanded, and are trying to win by suppressing the vote of their opponents. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

THE MORE THINGS CHANGE...

Just saw this over at Hullabaloo. This was from an interview with Republican strategist Lee Atwater in 1981. The slime pit Karl Rove crawled out of was filled with sludge invented by Lee Atwater. As you read this, keep in mind the disgusting race-baiting ads used by supporters of Corker against Harold Ford in Tennessee. I apologize for including the crude racial slur Atwater uses, but it's necessary to get the full effect:

You start out in 1954 by saying, "Nigger, nigger, nigger." By 1968 you can't say "nigger" - that hurts you. Backfires. So you say stuff like forced busing, states' rights and all that stuff. You're getting so abstract now [that] you're talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you're talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is [that] blacks get hurt worse than whites.

And subconsciously maybe that is part of it. I'm not saying that. But I'm saying that if it is getting that abstract, and that coded, that we are doing away with the racial problem one way or the other. You follow me - because obviously sitting around saying, "We want to cut this," is much more abstract than even the busing thing, and a hell of a lot more abstract than "Nigger, nigger."

Lee knows what he's talking about. New polls show the ad helped Corker and hurt Ford. Why would that be the case? The answer is simple. In many parts of the South, being a racist doesn't hurt you with voters. Seems like Corker's buddies learned at the feet of the master.

CAN'T STOP CLIFF

Cliff Schecter, Democratic strategist, rips up the GOP shill in this clip. This is exactly what the Repubs have been doing for years, shameless demagoguing and smearing, and it's good to see them get a taste of their own medicine for a change. And, as a bonus, the 24/7 cable news channels love this stuff, so we're certain to see much more of Cliff in the future:

Cliff is also a weekly contributor to AMERICAblog, so check him out over there as well.

PASTOR TED VS. EVIL-UTIONIST RICHARD DAWKINS

This is amusing, especially in light of the revelations about Haggard's appetite for gay sex and crystal meth. Of course, he's wrong about evolution and science, and always was wrong, whether he's giving a sermon in dress shirt and khakis, or whether he's snorting Special K off a gay hooker's ass:

I wonder if he was high in that video...

PAY ATTN JAY156-- IT'S IMPORTANT!

Democrats say they are ahead in many races because of the public's growing dissatisfaction with the war in Iraq. And polls show that a clear majority of Americans see the war as a mistake and far fewer support the president's handling of it

Missouri's Senate race is intertwined with a ballot measure that would engrave the right to conduct embryonic stem cell research into the state constitution. McCaskill supports it; Talent opposes it. Bush didn't mention it

Violence against Iraqis has grown unabated in the past month, with more than 1,300 killed since October 1. Fearing more bloodshed after Sunday's expected announcement of a verdict in the trial of former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein, Iraq's defense minister has canceled leave for all army officers

"President Bush has never had a plan to win in Iraq, and now that Democrats and Republicans are all calling for change, he's desperately clinging to his stay the course," said Adrianne Marsh, a spokeswoman for McCaskill who was finishing a four-day statewide tour and plans to begin a 24-hour campaign blitz in St. Louis on Friday evening. "It's unfortunate that Talent is one of the only Republicans who agrees."

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- As she fights for her political life, Ohio Republican Rep. Deborah Pryce distanced herself Thursday from the Iraq war, telling CNN Radio, "What's happening in Iraq is not a direct reflection on me."

In a CNN poll released Wednesday, Iraq topped the list of issues that Americans consider "extremely important" as the country heads into Tuesday's midterm elections

Thirty-seven percent of Americans approve of the way President Bush is handling his job, while 58 percent disapprove, according to a CNN poll released Monday.

NEW YORK (CNN) -- We talk a lot during presidential years about "coattails" (not many coats have tails anymore, but never mind). We mean, of course, whether the candidate at the top of the ticket can pull other candidates into office.

But this year, there's a very different issue that could be decisive: Bush's "reverse coattails."
President Bush's unpopularity has been a drag on his party's prospects going into this year's midterm elections.

ok.. ffs... can you see the writing on the wall? or are you BLIND?.. republican party was destroyed by bush and his thugs..

change is inevitable:)

STUPID QUESTIONS FROM STUPID PEOPLE

Vic Moroni just got on the mic and asked me the following:

Vic Fucktardi - Mark Foley apologized just like John Kerry did. So why are we supposed to move on from Kerry but we're still having to talk about Mark Foley?

The mind boggles. Could it be because sexual predation and GOP attempts to cover up for such behavior dating back a decade or more is just a teensy bit more important than a botched joke? Now that's a question I know Vic won't answer.

DELUSIONS ABOUT DECISIONS

An anonymous commenter displays typical conservative psychotic delusions:

anonymous - I would like to take this blog space to personally thank John Kerry for handing the mid term election to the Republican party. Thank you Senator Kerry, you have proven once again that you're the best friend we have

Say what you will about Kerry, but there is no question of anyone "handing" you the midterm elections. Republicans are going to lose at least 10-15, and more likely 25-35 seats in the House, along with 4-7 seats in the Senate. The end result is that you will have FEWER seats. You will have a REDUCED contingent. When the final vote is cast, there will be LESS of you. What that means, and I hope you knuckle-dragging neocons are following closely here, is that you are LOSING. The only question is whether it's stream or hemorrhage. I hope that's all cleared up for you.

JAY156 - POLITICAL GENIUS

jay156 said...

"Florida GOP isn't telling anyone to vote for Foley....Foley's name is simply a place holder for Joe Negron, the GOP candidate in this election."

Jay156 misses the point - the GOP will stop at nothing to get their man in office. They will stoop lower than snail shit to win an election. Jay156 is obviously a proponent of snail shit politics -- a treasured GOP tradition and value. "Simply a place holder" he writes. Ahhhhh, it is all so simple in Florida.

In other words, the Florida GOP would rather see a pedophile represent Florida than a democrat. Rather than warn a potentially uninformed voter who may not know of Foley's penchant for children, the Florida GOP would rather encourage that voter to cast his/her ballot for a pedophile; and how do they do it jay156? By shouting loudly "VOTE FOR FOLEY" - that's how!

So, jay156 makes a liar of himself once again. If the Florida GOP isn't telling voters to VOTE FOR FOLEY, who are they saying to vote for? Foley's proxy? Of course not. That would create all manner of confusion (Florida voters have a knack for that), and Joe Negron's chances of being elected despite not being on the ballot might be squandered by the truth.

This on top of Congressional Republicans hiding Foley in the House Cloakroom Closet for several years at the behest of our beloved and rotund Speaker! Just another example of RepuKKKe morality - anything, anytime, anywhere - even if it involves voting for a pedophile!

So, Florida for Foley wins the day......but not the election!

Does the GOP have NO SHAME?

THIS PRESIDENT MUST APOLOGIZE

JC

OUR FEARLESS LEADERS

Now here's a motley crew for ya! These are the same criminals who spend their time smearing the military careers of our decorated war vets - President James E. Carter, President John F. Kennedy, Senator John F. Kerry, Senator Maxwell Cleland, Secretary of the Navy James Webb, Vice President Albert Gore, Pennsylvania Representative John Murtha...yep - this herd of COWARD BASTARDS have the audacity to deride the military careers of those who had the honor, fortitude, and sense of duty to defend our nation. They use our GIs as political props - at least those they don't gutlessly send to their deaths in Iraq. But they'll publically enable, protect and come to the rescue of the likes of Representative Mark Foley - a low-life pedophile. AND to add insult to injury - the GOP is telling Florida voters to VOTE FOR FOLEY. Isn't that rich - according to the GOP - Mark Foley, pedophile extraordinaire...GOOD; John Murtha, decorated war hero...BAD!

Does the GOP have NO SHAME?

QUOTE OF THE DAY

You know, education -- if you make the most of it, you study hard and you do your homework and you make an effort to be smart, you can do well. If you don't, you get stuck in Iraq." - John Kerry....

It figures the idiots in the right wing press would twist this around. I applaud John Kerry for standing his ground and all you right wing jerkoffs over at ConservativeStink can suck my motherfucking dick at that lame ass joke you posted. Kerry said something that most AMERICANS (not the brainwashed idiots who worship FOX News) are feeling. I don't know if anyone caught NBC Nightly News but the prospect of the balance of power going to the Dems is getting more real everyday and there is nothing that president ASSHOLE, RUSH PILLHEAD or SEAN QUEERBAIT can do about it. Now, what we need is for AP, ATTILA THE CHICKEN SHIT and ARCHIE to sit the fuck down and shut up because their nightmare is about to come true and all their yelling ain't going to stop it.
