By now many have heard that George Carlin died Sunday, June 22, 2008. George was 71 and was at a show as recently as last week in Nevada.

Many have no clue that George Carlin was in the U.S. Air Force, he was first a suit and tie comedian and he even appeared on 'The Tonight Show' when Jack Paar was the host.

What I believe George was best known for were the seven "Filthy Words" that eventually lead George Carlin to the Supreme Court.

And in memory of George I would like to list those seven words.

The Original 'Seven Filthy Words':

and tits.

And for those of you that would like to read the direct quote from the Supreme Court Decision of FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION v. PACIFICA FOUNDATION, 438 U.S. 726, 98 S.Ct. 3026 (1978), you can here

George Carlin is one person that I looked up to for the simple fact he held the U.S. Constitution dear to his heart; especially the First Amendment, and he refused to allow all American's rights to be dismissed.

George I hope you're enjoying your after-life in which you are watching the decline of civilization on a "heavenly CNN." (comment by George Carlin to Playboy in 2005) We all know you were looking forward to it, and could you keep a seat warm for us?

George Dennis Carlin

A Great American

Nice comments facet, he was a good guy. But you seem to have forgotten he was a devout atheist so that 'warm seat' is actually more likely a very hot seat. ;)

Thank God for atheist. We need more rational people in this world versus those that believe in sky pixies.

Carlin made everyone think, and that is lacking in many of the comedians of today. He attacked all politicians, which I find refreshing.

All of them need to feel the heat, especially politicians. So let that very hot seat Anonymous is speaking of be felt by all that want to lead in this country.

We must make all of them accountable.

The last count put 90% of planet Earth believing in a higher power.
gjordon is among the 10% that think the other 90 are delusional.

What an idiot
