Free trade is simply a race to the bottom for wages and workers rights. Being a veteran of the Seattle WTO protests , several World Bank protests and International Monetary Fund actions I would like to share my commendation to my brothers and sisters in support of economic justice.
Transparency and open communication are something that
these organizations are extraordinarily fearful of given that the very people that they would have to be open with are the ones that the policy they ratify will directly affect. Expanding slave wages, minimizing proper housing issues, health care and education are what free trade conferences are about.
Free trade advocates in short are out to make the entire world the third world. For those who don't understand I will rephrase that, they want you to work for nothing , your children to go to bed hungry and then will demand that you send them to die in wars to expand multi national consumerism. For those who still don't understand , I will further rephrase, THEY WANT YOU TO SHUT UP , NOT THINK AND SHOP!
I will close with a close facsimile of a quote I heard from a speaker in Seattle , They worry about a few broken windows? What about all of the broken hearts of the families of the people that they have killed from the conditions in their factories ?
